Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni Steam Version Removed For Australian, German Gamers

Valkyrie Drive Banned

If you thought you could skirt around the retail limitations that prevent the sale of physical Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni in Australia and Germany by picking up a digital version from Steam, you’re fresh out of luck.

TheGG is reporting that the community manager for Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni posted a message on the Steam forums informing users that the game is no longer available digitally for sale in Australia or Germany.

According to the community manager…

“As of today, 10th August 2017, VALKYRIE DRIVE -BHIKKHUNI-, VALKYRIE DRIVE -BHIKKHUNI- Complete Edition and the VALKYRIE DRIVE -BHIKKHUNI- Complete DLC Pack are no longer available for purchase on Steam in Australia and Germany.

“VALKYRIE DRIVE -BHIKKHUNI- was removed for sale in these countries in accordance with local legislation. “

Not all hope is lost, though. Marvelous Entertainment is supposedly investigating ways to rectify the problem and attempt to sell the game in Australia and Germany once more.

Last year the publishers ran into problems in Australia and Germany, where the game was refused a rating in both Germany and Australia on the grounds that it incentivized sex for rewards. This made it where it was not attainable through standard retail outlets for the PS4 and PS Vita in Germany and Australia.

This year, the publishers had to remove the title from Steam in the German and Australia regions for PC.

This news comes at a rather odd time given that Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni launched on Steam back on June 20th, 2017 of this year. The game was widely available around the world, but two months later it appears Valve was instructed by the powers that be to have Marvelous Entertainment restrict the game from being sold in Australia or Germany.

For those of you who live in those regions who already purchased the game, it will still be available for you to download and play. For those of you who did not purchase the game, it will not be available for you to purchase henceforth.

Marvelous was unable to solve the problem of the game being banned for the home consoles last year, so there’s little reason to believe that things might change for the PC version of the game this year.
