The upcoming turn-based RPG based on Joe Madureira’s comic series just received a brand new trailer. THQ Nordic and Airship Syndicate unveiled a new character spotlight for the old man mage named Knolan. He can utilize his magical abilities during combat to summon powerful entities, such as deadly tentacles from another plane.
The trailer spotlighting Knolan is pretty short, clocking in at only 51 seconds. The short teaser showcases both Knolan’s basic attacks as well as some of his special attacks, including ranging from melee attacks to fireballs. Things escalate when Knolan begins utilizing his summon abilities, which you can check out below.
The trailer is short and sweet but gives you just enough juice to get an idea as to what the gameplay will be like for Knolan. They also pepper in some combat from the other two teammates.
The gameplay is a traditional turn-based RPG where players can select their attacks, strategize their skills and roll out team combos in order whittle down the enemy forces and secure a victory. If you were a fan of the old Final Fantasy games on the SNES, where the two teams took to each side of the screen and battled it out, then you’re likely going to feel right at home with Airship Syndicate’s new-gen take on the system.
Visually, the game is in 3D but the character designs resemble their comic book incarnations, so there’s a bit of a unique flavor to the art-style that helps it standout from a lot of other games out there.
Expect more character trailers to drop leading up to the game’s October 3rd release on PC, PS4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch. This is just the first of several characters in the game, and I’m sure gamers can’t wait to see Red Monika in her spotlight. Surprisingly Airship Syndicate kept her close to her comic book incarnation, which is something we usually don’t see in today’s age of gaming.
Anyway, you can look for Battle Chasers to launch next month for home consoles and PC. For more info you can visit the official website.
