DreamTales Is An Ode To Legend Of Zelda And It Lets You Turn Enemies Into Chocolate

Fingers Meet Controller’s DreamTales is an ode to the classic Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, where players are trapped in the dream world of a boy named Kairos. An evil wizard forces him to stay locked in his own mind, but thankfully he’s armed with a rather powerful ability: to turn enemies into chocolate.

The combat is very similar to the classic 16-bit SNES title, where players can swipe and slash at foes to turn them into chocolate, as well as defend against their attacks. The hook here is that turning them into chocolate isn’t just about doing it for laughs, you can also eat those mothersuckers. That’s right, you can eat the enemies after turning them into chocolate. It’s about the tastiest form of cannibalism you’ll find this side of The Silence of the Lambs.

But not only can you eat the baddies, you can use their chocolate-fied bodies as shields. During combat you can hide behind an enemy turned into chocolate and let them take damage for you.

Beyond that you can also use the chocolate ability to turn objects into the lickty-good brown substance in order to complete some puzzles. As evidenced in the video above you can see how turning the retractable platform into chocolate while it’s fully extended allows you to use it as a way to create a bridge. There are also a variety of quests, mini-games such as fishing, and other interactive elements sprinkled throughout the game world.

The developers are currently asking for $25,000 in order to finish off the game and they currently have 29 days left as of the writing of this article.

As far as development times are concerned they’re estimating that the game won’t be done and ready until 2019, so you would be waiting for quite some time in order to get a finished copy plopping down in your Steam library.

If you think the premise is interesting enough for you to want to learn more, you can do so by visiting the Kickstarter page.
