FIFA 18 Story Trailer Features Ronaldo, More Alex Hunter Drama

If you’re really excited about FIFA 18, Electronic Arts let loose a brand new trailer for the upcoming game, featuring a brief teaser for the game’s story mode called The Journey: Alex Hunter Returns. It features the foreigner, Hunter, attempting to wade his way through the politics of FIFA, and the hamstringing of success at the hands of devious agents and a mistress that no one can tame called fame.

Players will journey alongside Alex as he attempts to navigate the maze of corruption and sycophancy spawned from the ethereal yoke of media attention and super-stardom. You can check out the trailer below, which seems to prominently feature the appearance of Real Madrid’s poster-boy, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Even though a lot of gamers probably thought that Alex Hunter’s troubles would be well behind him after joining a Premiere League, but the trailer above reveals that Hunter’s troubles are just getting started.

According to the press release that EA sent out, the storyline for FIFA 18: The Journey II: Alex Hunter Returns centers around Hunter signing for four teams, the LA Galaxy, PSG, Bayern, and Atletico. The game also takes players through a variety of different locations and challenges, where it mentions in the press release that players will play under the clear blue skies of Brazil all the way to the bright sunny days of Los Angeles, and a variety of places in between.

The Journey II: Alex Hunter Returns will star Cristiano Ronaldo, James Harden, Thierry Henry, Rio Ferdinand, Antoine Griezmann, Dele Alli, Tomiwa Edun, and Thomas Muller.

Gamespot is also reporting that the Career Mode is being overhauled with an all new signage mini-game for trades, where players will be able to negotiate with team reps in real-time trade negotiations, along with all new cutscenes for when a trade successfully goes through.

FIFA 18 is set to release on September 29th for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC, along with a special limited version for the Nintendo Switch.
