Microsoft had an opportunity to keep the momentum going after September’s strong line-up of titles via their Games With Gold program. AAA offerings like Battlefield 3 and Forza Motorsport 5 showed that Microsoft was committed to keeping gamers entertained and engaged with the Xbox platform. However, the October line-up of Games With Gold shows that Microsoft is having a Sony lapse.
Over on the Xbox News Wire, Microsoft rolled out the details on the four games that would be free for the month of October.
The Xbox One will be receiving Gone Home between October 1st and October 31st, For those unfamiliar with the title, it’s a walking sim that was highly praised by SJW media, many of whom portrayed the game as a horror title. It turns out that it was a just a recount of how the main character’s younger sister was a lesbian who ran away from home with her lesbian girlfriend.
A lot of real gamers felt betrayed by the media because many outlets portrayed the game as a horror title when in reality it was just a walking sim. This was an unforgivable crime.
If you thought that Microsoft would follow up Gone Home with something worthwhile, think again. The other game is another first-person indie title, The Turing Test. It’s a puzzle game not unlike Q.U.B.E. and other mind-twisters that have come out recently.
Now The Turing Test isn’t bad, but October is a huge month and there’s no way that The Turing Test is going to compare or compete with games like Super Mario Odyssey and Assassin’s Creed: Origins.
Heck, even Sony recognized that Nintendo is bringing their ‘A’ game this fall and decided to make PS Plus look worthwhile for once by rolling out heavy hitters like Metal Gear Solid V and the Amnesia Collection to at least offer PlayStation gamers a bit of something to counter Nintendo. Microsoft seems to have shifted into cruise control and gone back to catering to SJWs.
Even if the Xbox One offerings were as paltry as they were for October, one would think Microsoft would step up their game with some top tier Xbox 360 games… right? Wrong.
The two titles for the Xbox 360 includes Rayman 3 HD and Medal of Honor: Airborne. Sure those two aren’t terrible games, but come on… are they serious?
Anyway, you can grab the last remaining free games for September before the SocJus offerings of October roll around.
