Continue moving down-to-right in a stair-like motion until you get through the door that leads to the first upgrade: the Morph Ball.
Head back to your left and grab the missile upgrade but then proceed back into the room where you got the Morph Ball and roll up into a ball and roll through the crevice and then head to your left.
Platform across the areas but do not proceed through the door. Instead, go up and through the small hole in the ceiling that will lead you through a tunnel.
You’ll unlock the Scan Pulse after you come out of the tunnel and grab the power orb from the mouth of the statue.
Follow the pathway around until a cinematic will play involving a Metroid.
Continue down and to your left until another cinematic plays and then keep heading right and you’ll encounter your first fight with a Metroid.
Defeat the Metroid using melee attacks and rockets. Go through the next room and head up and around to the doorway on the right and it will lead you to the Charge Beam in the next room, as indicated in the image below.
Head back up to the concourse and then proceed down through the next area, as indicated in the video.
Keep heading down until you reach the elevator and take it down into the next section. Keep heading down and you’ll find a save point at the bottom of the chasm. Head to your right across the platforms until you reach a door. Shoot the door open and go up the platforms.
Get to the top of the platforms and then move to your right – keep going right across the platforms until you get to the end of the area and then head down and to your right until you reach another door that will lead you to another boss fight with a Metroid, as demonstrated in the video below.
Head back the way you came until you reach the vertical pathway and then head up and turn into a Morph Ball and head proceed through a small opening in the wall, as indicated in the image below.
How To Get The Ice Beam Cannon
Head to your left through the door and there’s a Bomb upgrade. Take it and then back into the corridor and go up and to your right through the next doorway and proceed right until you get to another vertical corridor and head down to the very bottom and to your left through the door and keep going left until you reach the Ice Beam power-up.
Head back the way you came and go through the door on the right and keep going right until you reach a small tunnel. At the end of the tunnel you’ll find a few missile upgrades if you blow up the wall using the Morph Ball bomb.
Head back into the vertical corridor and use the Ice Beam to freeze the enemies and keep going up until you reach the door to the right. Go inside and use the Morph Ball to open the door from the other side so you can get through. Fall through the winding area until you reach the bottom and you’ll find the Spider Ball upgrade. Take it.
Now you can scale up the walls while you’re in the Morph Ball form.
Use the Morph Ball’s new upgrade in the previous room where the save point was located just before you got the Spider Ball upgrade and go up the wall and into the next room on the right. There’s a Metroid inside that you can fight. Kill the Metroid and proceed to use the Spider Ball to keep going up the wall until you ride the wall all the way until you reach a new area with an opening and a charge station. Go up into this area and get the missile upgrade.
Hop down and then head to your left. There are also some missile
upgrades in the floor. Make your way back around to solid ground and head to your right where the save point is located. Proceed down the vertical shaft until you reach the bottom and then use the Spider Ball to climb up the wall and head through the small tunnel. You’ll find a Metroid carcass on the ground. Head down and to your right and there’s a Metroid boss fight encounter. You’ll find it at the red circle on the image below.
Once you get done killing it you’ll find that directly across from that boss fight is another Metroid boss fight.
Head back up from whence you came and head all the way back to the flashing icon on the map, as indicated in the image below.
Activate the shrine and then head down into the next area.
Continue to proceed down until you reach the elevator. Hop aboard and then take the elevator into the next area.
Kill the enemies and head down and to your left to save the game at the checkpoint.
Back to your right there’s a small tunnel you’ll need to roll through that leads to the next segment, where you’ll uncover one of the other elevators that will take you to the next section, but you’ll need to defeat some Metroids first. Proceed through the door to the far left of the area and go through.
Head across the platforms and use the Spider Ball to get to the upper platforms. Proceed left and up and you’ll come across a Metroid carcass. There’s a small tunnel to the right small enough for Samus to squeeze through as a Morph Ball that will lead you to a missile upgrade. Head back around to where the carcass is located but go left instead of right and you’ll face off against another Metroid boss.
How To Get Lightning Armor
Blast open the wall to the far left of the area using the missiles. Hop through the small opening and head down and around until you get to the door. Proceed through the door and into the mouth of the statue doorway shaped as a mouth to unlock the Lightning Armor upgrade.
Use the Lightning Armor to get through the fungus looking and grab the missile upgrade. Make your way through the small maze area and head back through door and then make your wya up through the fungi. Take the elevator back up the elevator.
You can grab a missile upgrade by heading to your left and using the Spider Ball up the side of the wall and going through the small tunnel area.
Back down below you can head through the door and then proceed up the vertical shaft.
At the top of the shaft there are two doors, go into the upper door to fight another Metroid.
How To Get The Spring Ball
Head back down after you defeat the Metroid and then go into the door just below the boss room. Go outside and use the Spider Ball to roll up the wall just above the door until you get to the top of the platform. Go all the way around and back down through the opening and there will be two doors. Use the missile on the door to the left to fight the boss. Upon defeating the boss you will acquire the Spring Ball, which will allow you to jump while in Morph Ball form.
Go topside and then hop down and proceed back into the facility to your left. Keep heading down and to your left until you reach the elevator. Take the elevator down to reach the new area.
How To Get The Varia Suit
Proceed to your right and go down and to your right until you reach a door that leads to a lava area. Above the door is a tunnel that you will need to go through first, and follow the path to a room that contains an orb, inside you will find the Varia Suit. You’ll need this suit before you can proceed through the door that leads to the lava land, otherwise the extreme heat will kill you.
Once you head through the door that leads to the lava area, keep moving around to your left and then down and to your right in a U-turn and it will lead you to the next boss fight against a far more dangerous Metroid that uses electric powers to zap the floor. Just be sure to jump and cling to the wall when it charges up its electric attack.
How To Get The Wave Beam
Once it’s defeated, head through the next room and use the Spider Ball to scale up the vertical shaft and go left , you will find an orb with a Wave Beam inside.
Make your way up and around to the next segment past the purple fungus and watery pits.
How To Get High Jump Boots
Getting to the High Jump Boots can be a bit tricky because you have to blast your way through a small tunnel wall that doesn’t look like you can get through it. Once you do, it will lead you down a long vertical shaft. Getting to the tunnel is a bit tricky, but it’s marked in the red circle in the image below.
Once you go down the shaft and head left, you’ll be taken to a room with an orb that will give you access to the High Jump Boots.
Don’t leave the room after you get the boots. Instead, blow a hole through the floor and head to your left and blow another hole through the top left corner to access another area that will allow you to get another upgrade tank. Now you can exit the room.
Head all the way back up the long vertical shaft, and make use of the teleport station and head to the far left of the map, as indicated in the image below.
Keep going left and ride up the wall using the Spider Ball. Ride the wall all the way up and around until you reach a door at the very top. Go inside and there will be another Metroid boss.
Make your way around Make your way down and around to the left of the map where you’ll need to venture to the bottom of another shaft and blast your way through the wall on the right once you reach the bottom using a Moprh Ball bomb. Proceed through and and there’s a small maze that will allow you to get another upgrade.
Head right until you reach the doorway that leads you into another boss room where you’ll have to face off against another Metroid.
Proceed to the left of the area and keep going until you reach a door that takes you to another Metroid boss fight. Kill the Metroid and then head through the room that takes you to the molten lava area. If you go down and to your left it will lead you to a room where another Metroid boss fight is located. Kill it and then exit the room.
Go in the opposite direction of the room you just came out of. Keep going to your right until you go through a door that leads to another Metroid boss fight. This time it’s a fire-themed fight. Charge up your cannon and wait for it to attack you; use the melee attack to stun it when it charges you and then light it up with your cannon until it dies. It will activate another beacon on your map on the opposite side of the planet. You don’t have to go all the way back there on foot, though. There’s a teleporter that you can use to instantly teleport to the other side of the map.
Follow the glowing beacon and then proceed to activate the Metroid shrine. Make your way down the map into the uncharted territory.
Continue through the area to your right until you reach an elevator that will take you to Area 3.
