Resident Evil 7 Chris Redfield DLC Will Be Free On December 12th

Capcom made three announcements regarding Resident Evil 7 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One: that the DLC featuring Chris Redfield called “Not a Hero” will be free for everyone; that a second piece of DLC called “End of Zoe” will launch for $14.99, or it will be free for those who bought the season pass; and that you’ll be able to get all previously released DLC along with Chris’ campaign and Zoe’s campaign in one giant bundle known as Resident Evil 7: Biohazard Gold Edition. All three pieces of content will be available starting December 12th, 2017 later this year.

The End of Zoe DLC will explore what happened to Zoe Baker, the only sane member of the Baker family who survived in the “Good” ending. She was left at the dock after the store house had burned down with her father Jack inside. Players will explore all new swamp-filled areas playing as Zoe. The areas will also feature all new enemies as well, along with a conclusive finale for Zoe’s story in Resident Evil 7.

Chris’ DLC will be a little bit different, as you’ll be able to play as Chris and go on an adventure while dealing with enemies and monsters that didn’t appear in the main game. A minute long trailer was released to give you a look at what to expect from the upcoming DLC.

Chris has a very distinctly different look from his recent roided up depiction in the other action-blockbuster outings of the Resident Evil franchise. Some people are resolved to think that maybe this isn’t the “real” Chris and that it’s actually Hunk, a clone of Chris Redfield working for Umbrella, hence the “not a hero” subtitle.

Of course, the theories are just that… theories. We won’t know the details on Redfield’s fate until it drops this December. A lot of gamers are definitely interested in finding out exactly what will become of Zoe and Chris, especially with the cliffhanger regarding Zoe’s fate in the “Good” ending of Resident Evil 7.

You’ll be able to grab a copy of Zoe’s DLC without the season pass for $14.99, or with the season pass for free. Chris Redfield’s “Not a Hero” campaign will be free for everybody, or you can get your hands on all of the DLC, past and present, as part of the Resident Evil 7 Biohazard: Gold Edition starting December 12th for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC, either digitally or available at your local retailer in a physical boxed copy.
