Superbeat Xonic Set To Launch On Nintendo Switch This Fall

PM Studios and Acttil announced that the music-rhythm game Superbeat Xonic is set to arrive on the Nintendo Switch this fall. Details on the release date were scant, but we do know that the game will feature both touchscreen controls and traditional Joy-Con support, so you can play in the best way that suits your play-style.

The game will feature more than 65 different songs, including all of the previously released DLC packs for the PS4 and Xbox One, this also includes seven free DLC songs.

PM Studios recently posted up the announcement trailer for the Switch version of the game on their YouTube channel.

The original came out way back in 2015, and was practically ignored on the PlayStation Vita when it dropped in the fall. That’s not surprising given that people pay attention to the PlayStation Vita about as much as SJWs are paying any attention to Puerto Rico.

Anyway, the game is one of those psychedelic, techno-themed music-rhythm games where the objective is to play to the beats, and rack up the combos just like in games such as Dance Dance Revolution.

Unlike Konami’s game, however, you won’t have the whole background dancers helping or giving you cues about the rhythm shifts. You also won’t have any on-screen silhouettes like in Ubisoft’s Just Dance series.

Beyond what you see in the trailer and beyond the press release saying that the game will be made available in North America this fall, there isn’t much else to say about the game or any details that PM Studios have made available for upcoming title.

I can definitely see Superbeat Xonic being fairly popular in the portable mode since it seems to be designed for portable play.

Anyway, we’ll have to wait for more info to find out how much this 2015 re-release will be for the Nintendo Switch.
