Ghost Of Tsushima Sees Feudal Japan Versus The Mongol Empire

The latest open world game to explore feudal Japan comes Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Tsushima, which is a game that sees Japan battling the Mongol Empire. The PS4 game is currently in development and has no release date.

One of the more exciting games during Sony Paris Game Week 2017 comes an upcoming action-adventure title that is published by Sony Interactive Entertainment and developed by the ones behind inFAMOUS.

That’s right, developer Sucker Punch announced Ghost of Tsushima for PS4 during the PlayStation Media Showcase, and following the announcement comes an overview of the game:

“The year is 1274. Samurai warriors are the legendary defenders of Japan–until the fearsome Mongol Empire invades the island of Tsushima, wreaking havoc and conquering the local population. As one of the last surviving samurai, you rise from the ashes to fight back. But, honorable tactics won’t lead you to victory. You must move beyond your samurai traditions to forge a new way of fighting–the way of the Ghost–as you wage an unconventional war for the freedom of Japan.”

The title is said to have no “way-points” and will let players explore a vast land of Tsushima during the time when the Mongol Empire invaded said land. I’m not sure how much you will be able to do in this game, but I do know from the devs that it will center around action and stealth elements.

You can check out the reveal video trailer showing Ghost of Tsushima. The two minute long trailer displays scenes of action here and there and uses CGI throughout to bill gamers a picture of its basic premise and setting.

Out of all of the games shown during Sony Paris Game Week 2017, this, Ghost of Tsushima, is the only game that has my attention. However, while we wait for more information on this game you can visit suckerpunch.com.
