Hunt: Showdown Announced To Hit Early Access, New Video Reveals Gameplay

During E3 2017 we got to see some footage of Crytek’s upcoming first-person PvP/PvE game known as Hunt: Showdown. As of now, the devs behind the game have partnered up with another publication site to show off its Steam Early Access page and in-game footage, which reveals 12 minutes of gameplay.

If you don’t know what Hunt: Showdown aims to offer, the game at its heart is a “competitive first-person PvP bounty hunting game” that mixes “heavy PvE elements” to add variety to its core. The game is developed by the makers of Crysis, and explores the “darkest corners of the world” in an attempt to nestle the psychological horror of survival elements into a match-based format.

Matches in Hunt: Showdown start with five teams of two with a goal to track their target(s). Once one of the teams have found and eliminated the objective, another phase will start where the team must fight for their bounty — becoming a target for every other Hunter left on the map to see.

Hunt: Showdown will feature a permanent death system, however there is a catch to this thing called death and it is Bloodline. Through death you will still be able to progress the ranks of Hunters via your Bloodline, which their experience will be transferred where it can later be applied to your other Hunters.

Looking over to the lucky ones who cheated death, in other words the ones who made it out of the map alive, you will be able to use the money and experience you obtained to upgrade your Hunter(s) and prepare for the next match. The catch is, though, if you die all of your earnings will be lost, except for your experience.

Now that you know what the Hunt: Showdown has to offer, the latest Steam Early Access trailer can be seen right here, courtesy of IGN.

Up next comes 12 minutes of gameplay that IGN and Crytek worked together to put up, which lies below.

No platform release or date has been announced, but given the Steam Early Access trailer we do know that it will be heading to PC.
