Metal Gear Survive Will Have A Single Player Mode That’s Always Online

Metal Gear Survive has made the news recently for its single player mode that calls for players to always be online. This information derives from the game’s main website. Konami is set to release Metal Gear Survive for PC, PS4, and Xbox One sometime in 2018.

Konami was hitting it big with Pachinko stuff until they had to make a “real game,” which meant copy/paste Metal Gear V: The Phantom Pains to make Metal Gear Survive after this abomination:

If you don’t know, pausing the video at 0:26 will flip Konami 26-inches of F U. You say you don’t believe me? Check this out.

On a serious note, though, after the Pachinko stuff, Konami’s work on Metal Gear Survive consists of utilizing the Fox Engine and bringing an action-survival experience against zombies set in the MG universe.

Some people who got to play Metal Gear Survive at Konami’s booth at E3 noted that the game was actually solid, despite the controversy surrounding the game and devs.

As of recent, more bad news has surfaced in that the single player mode of Metal Gear survive will call for you to be online. This information comes from DSOG who picked up the news from the game’s official website.

The publication site went as far as to quote a statement made by Konami that explains why you need to be online to play the game, which reads:

“Metal Gear Survive is composed of two main modes: Single Player and Co-op. Single Player takes you through the story of Metal Gear Survive while learning fundamental gameplay elements. Single Player lets you explore a strange ruined world as you seek answers and a way to return home. These skills will be put to the test in online Co-op mode. Progress and rewards obtained in both Single Player and Co-op mode carry over and apply to your character across both modes.”

What do you think of Konami’s explanation behind Metal Gear Survive always being online? Do you think it deserves 26-inches of F U or do you think that it’s legit?
