Middle-Earth: Shadow Of War Expansion Pass Reveals More Paid Content

Warner Bros. and Monolith Productions are in hot water right now with gamers, especially with the fact that Middle-Earth: Shadow of War has loot-boxes and microtransactions nestled in the game. As it stands now more people are positioning their stance against the fact there will be paid DLC that can be obtained through individual purchases or an Expansion Pass.

Some companies add in features that will raise an eyebrow, but it’s done in such a way where fans of the franchise can easily defend it. Then there are other companies that shove particular features in your face that force you to grind for an absurd amount of time or pay out actual funds to progress.

In recent times we’ve seen games like NBA 2K18 taking loot-box and microtransactions to a new level, and Forza Motorsport 7 wasn’t too far behind either.

In addition to the above, we also have Star Wars Battlefront 2 that will feature loot-boxes and microtransactions. The Sci-Fi shooter was met with harsh criticism when its beta revealed its scoring and loot-box system, which is “supposedly” to be scaled down at launch.

Other games can be traced holding loot-boxes and microtransactions, but it seems that Warner Bros. and Monolith Productions have taken it a step further beyond a full priced game featuring the above content according to fans.

Both on the game’s Twitter page and YouTube video reveal players concern about having to dish out more money for content that looks cut from the base game to get a hold of four pieces of paid expansions:

  • Slaughter Tribe Nemesis Expansion (November 2017)
  • Outlaw Tribe Nemesis Expansion (December 2017)
  • Blade of Galadriel Story Expansion (February 2018)
  • Desolation of Mordor Story Expansion (May 2018)

The trailer showing the above can be seen via Shadow of War‘s Youtube channel.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War is out now for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
