Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night Dev Update 9 Shows Off Current Progress

On the spooky day that is Halloween came a very unique surprise to some gamers and that happens to be publisher 505 Games and developers ArtPlay and DICO’s Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night development update 9. The new update shows off progress, new music, and gameplay.

If you haven’t been keeping up with Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night and wish to know the latest information surrounding said Igavania title, Koji Igarashi took to both Bloodstained’s Kickstarter update page and YouTube channel to show of some new stuff.

The one minute and 22 second long video shows a new courtyard area and a boss fight that requires a player to learn the pattern and attacks of a person named Zangestu.

The video doesn’t run that long compared to other development updates for other games, but if you happen to be out of the loop and want the latest progress report on Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, the new gameplay video below reveals the aforesaid.

The biggest complaint happens to be the combat isn’t weighty enough and that there needs to be more blood with prolonged enemy deaths. To my surprise, the devs seem to agree with a certain user named Pierce Arner on the above video who received the following reply:

“Hey Pierce! Yeah no worries there, I raised the duration and satisfaction factor of enemy deaths as personal feedback to the team even before this update, and now they’ll see everyone else talking about it too, so they are aware!”

Finally, we also get a snippet of music samples that will be featured in the full game. The three songs shared for public listing can be traced back to Noisycroak, and happen to be: The Executioners, Theme of Johannes, and Gears of Fortune.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is set to release across PC via Steam and GOG, PS4, PS Vita, Xbox One, and Switch in the first half of 2018.
