The official update featuring the model viewer for Koei Tecmo JRPG, Blue Reflection, has been made available for gamers in the West. This was made known in a recent post for the Steam version of the game, where it was announced that the model viewer had been implemented into the Dressing Room feature of Blue Reflection.
The first few comments were quick to point out that the model viewer in the Western version of the game is highly censored. You’re able to turn the girls around left and right and you can rotate overhead but you cannot rotate the camera below the waist, thus preventing any upskirt shots and prohibiting users from viewer the characters’ underwear.
Censored Gaming did a video comparing both versions of the game, showcasing how the model viewer in Japan gives users full control of the camera but the Western version is limited in its scope.
Concerns about the censorship first surfaced well before Koei dropped this latest patch for Gust’s JRPG. Gamers worried that given that the model viewer wasn’t added to the Western version of Blue Reflection along with the other DLC during its initial release that it was possible the model viewer would be censored in the West. Well, it turns out that they were right.
Koei Tecmo is no stranger to censoring games for the West – or in one of the most infamous cases of avoiding controversy, Koei Tecmo actually refused to release Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 in the West due to feminists and SJWs. One of their PR reps working the Facebook page originally informed the community that they wouldn’t be bringing Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 West because of the rabid and censorious feminists that have been smearing and attacking game developers who have sexy women in their games, writing…
“We do not bring DOAX3 to the west and won’t have any plan change in the future. Thank you for asking.”
“Do you know many issues happening in video game industry with regard to how to treat female in video game industry? We do not want to talk those things here. But certainly we have gone through in last year or two to come to our decision. Thank you.”
Even though Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 never released in the West, SJW games journalists still attacked Koei Tecmo for the VR mode that at one point allowed you to fondle the girls in the game, prompting Social Justice Warriors to exclaim that it was “sexual assault”.
In this case, Koei didn’t even want to entertain the idea of allowing Westerners to peek up the girls’ skirts in Blue Reflection.
Nevertheless, modders have come to the rescue, both with a nude texture mod and a cheat engine sheet so that you can not only see the girls in the buff but in rather compromising poses as well.
You can get your hands on the nude texture mod and cheat engine sheet from over on the Undertow.Club.
Blue Reflection is available right now for PS4 and on Steam for PC.
