Red Crucible: Reloaded Has Gamers Claiming It’s A Pay-To-Win Mess

If you’re looking for a free-to-play first person shooter, you probably don’t want to look at Red Crucible: Reloaded from Rocketeer Games Studios.

The game is a typical free-to-play shooter, allowing up to 18 players to hop into the game and duke it out in four different game modes, including Team Deathmatch, Attack and Defend, Territories, and Frontlines.

Like most free-to-play games, you can use the points you earn from winning matches to unlock new stuff, or you can buy it with real money. While the concept of using ground, air and infantry-style combat might seem enticing to War Rock refugees, but the Steam community so-far have completely denounced the game as anything worthy of your time, attention, or your hard-earned money.

So what appears to be the biggest problem? Well, apparently it’s pay-to-win.

There’s a consistent number of complaints about the game’s monetary setup, with many claiming it’s very grind heavy.

User Kris explained…

“It’s the EXACT same game as firestorm. Only, it’s harder to get new weapons and you cant get armor peices you buy full sets instead. The weaponry are too expensive and getting the money to buy them is too hard as well. It’s pay to win, dump 50 dollars into ir and you can pretty much get the strongest weapons at level 1. Not worth it, dont wate your time to money.”

Kris wasn’t alone. A majority of other users in recent times also logged negativereviews for the exact same reasons.

Bodega was willing to give the game a pass if they would just lower the prices, writing…

“Its just a remake version of firestorm, but everything costs too much, i see a lot of hackers and its hard as ♥♥♥♥ to make money I’m sorry but i have to say No If you’ll lower the prices or make money much easier to get maybe i’ll change my opinion”

Vizzerdrikz also chimed in with a similar complaint, succinctly writing…

“Copy of red crucible firestorm with a heavier pay to win element.”

Half of all the reviews are negative, citing connection issues, crashes and pay-to-win.

What may be a little confusing to some people is that some of the reviews giving the game a thumbs up actually seem to veer towards the negative, like the one from 1underman123

There were some people who were excited about the game because of the Communists… almost as if we’ve never left 1985.

Beyond the Communist-supporters and the people angry about the servers dropping connections, the game crashing, and the pay-to-win elements, some gamers are praising it as a free-to-play alternative to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, with Fishnut writing…

“Red Crucible: Reloaded is an extremely fun game. It’s very similar to CS:GO but has a more sandboxy feel to it, with crazy weapons like rocket launchers and fun vehicles like tanks and helicopters. I would recommend this game to anyone who likes Shooters like CS:GO, Fortnite, or PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS. for a free game this one really impressed me. 7.5/10”

Maybe if they tone down on the pay-to-win elements, reduce the crashing, and six the server connection issues maybe Red Crucible: Reloaded might be worth checking out, but so far people are finding the most useful reviews to be the ones saying to steer clear.
