Stunlock Studios has a Prehistoric Mania event taking place right now in the MOBA game Battlerite. The title has turned out to be widely popular after going free-to-play on Steam.

The Prehistoric Mania event will only last for two weeks, but it adds some entertaining new elements to the core gameplay, including all new avatars, poses, weapons, skins, dinosaur mounts and six new legendary outfits all themed after the stone age.

Unlocking the new stuff is done simply by partaking in the events and completing quests. You can then purchase the new items using the in-game currency.

A trailer for the new update was made available for public viewing, which you can check out below.

The trailer starts with a shaman using some magic to travel back in time, and then we get to see the characters in the overhauled arenas and riding on the war-painted dinosaurs.

They don’t show the characters fighting but we see three of them wearing caveman clothes.

The event isn’t set to last for very long, though. You can get in on the action right now but it’ll be over with before the ice thaws. You’ll have up until December 12th to get in game time with the Prehistoric Mania event, so jump in while the jumping in is good.

You’ll be joined by millions of other gamers who have also put in time and effort (and money) into the free-to-play MOBA from Stunlock Studios. They’ve attempted to move away from the pay-to-win factors by allowing gamers to unlock all the champions for a fixed price of $29.99. This avoids players spending money on booster packs or XP pots.

Also the developers weren’t afraid to make the characters look sexy, so they’re not trying to appease people who won’t ever play their game.
