Funcom has announced that their dong-dangling, serpent-slaying, god-laying, slave-claiming, monster-flaying MMO, Conan Exiles, will finally graduate from Early Access on May 8th, 2018 next year for PC and home consoles. The full version of the game will be available for those of you who enjoy taking tea-bagging to the next level all while building up your own home in the digital corner of Conan’s universe while dealing with raiders, survival, ancient enemies and deadly factions.
Creative director Joel Bylos explained in the press release that they needed that time in Early Access to hew the game into something sharp and respectable, saying…
“Early Access and Game Preview has been an absolutely invaluable tool for us in developing Conan Exiles,”
“Being able to get direct feedback from players has allowed us to focus our work on improvements, bug fixes, and new content. We still have a few months to go and are by no means done squashing bugs and making improvements. We’re working hard on new content and gameplay mechanics – including the new jungle and volcano biomes!”
They’ve managed to complete quite a bit of content for Conan Exiles over the past year, so far. There are already multiple biomes in the game, allowing players to build their own cities, fortresses, and civilizations, as depicted in the game’s release date trailer below.
What’s more is that Funcom will be teaming up with Deep Silver, as showcased in the trailer, where boxed retail copies of Conan Exiles will be available in May for home consoles and PC.
Pre-orders have also opened up along with the announcement of a limited collector’s edition, which will come with a 15cm Conan the Barbarian polyresin figurine based on the way the character is depicted in the cinematic sequences. The pack will also come with a custom, full-color comic book made in collaboration with Dark Horse Comics, and the soundtracks from Conan Exiles, Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures and Age of Conan: Rise of the Godslayer.
The collector’s edition will also contain a specialized artbook containing production artwork from the concept phase to the full color design images. There’s a world map packed in, six full-color digital comic books, a digital RPG rule book from Modiphius, and the full version of Conan Exiles along with the inclusion of Conan’s Atlantean sword for use as an in-game item.
The game will launch on PC for $39.99 while the PS4 and Xbox One versions will be available for $49.99. The game is currently available in Early Access on PC for only $29.99, so technically you could buy it now and save yourself $10.
