Echoes Of The Fey Tries To Rally One Last Push Before Kickstarter Finale

The high-fantasy visual novel from Woodsy Studio called Echoes of the Fey: The Last Sacrament is moving toward its inevitable end on Kickstarter, and the developers are hoping they can accrue that final stretch of funds to finish the crowdfunding drive.

The project hasn’t fared too well on Kickstarter. Over the course of the month they were hoping to bring in $7,500, but have only managed just under $2,000 as of the writing of this article. They still have seven days left on the counter, but it looks like it could be a tough home stretch if they’re hoping to make it.

Echoes of the Fey is a detective series set in a high-fantasy universe. You take on the role of Sofya Rykov, a private investigator who is the only known human to wield magic.

The description of the character is basically Jessica Jones set within the realm of The Lord of the Rings. She drinks heavily, sleeps around, and has a sassy attitude to cover for her own feeling of hopelessness and the growing shroud of depression that looms over her seemingly inevitable fate for a violent death, either by the perps she’s tracking down or the seemingly uncorked magic residing within.

While it’s a visual novel at heart, there are several key choices you can make throughout the game to shape Rykov’s experience, as showcased in the demo below.

While the core detective story is one aspect of the game, there are also other non-traditional elements to flesh out the VN experience as well, including side-scrolling segments, and an in-world tabletop RPG you can play called ‘RiftRealms’.

The visual novel has a handful of romance options available, including romancing an odd looking elf, and perverted looking priest dude, Sofya’s female best friend, and… they kind of leave it ambiguous if you can romance the evil guy in the video above attempting to blackmail Sofya for his own ends.

Anyway, if you’re interested in learning more you can do so by visiting the Kickstarter page.
