Steel Wool Studios and Games Workshop released a new trailer for the upcoming turn-based strategy game based on Warhammer 40,000 called The Horus Heresy: Betrayal At Calth.
The trailer is a brief introduction into the game’s Early Access content and what you can expect from the real-time strategy game.
The trailer is only a minute long so you won’t have to sit, watching and waiting to get to the good parts. You can check it out below.
The trailer features a look at controlling the Ultramarines in various maps fighting for the Imperium while building up an army and exploring the ruins of Calth.
The trailer sports lots of cutaways and quick clips so you don’t get to see how the gameplay really functions in a real-time environment, but you do get to see how many units you’ll have at your command, as well as what the general landscape of the battlefield will be like, and even how the game can be played in VR.
I’m still not entirely sure the VR is going to entice many players into the fold, as it generally looks as if you’re going to be viewing the action from the ground level while attempting to give commands and direct traffic while being engaged in the middle of the battle.
The full game will feature both a single-player campaign mode and a multiplayer PvP component.
Steel Wool Games plans on keeping The Horus Heresy: Betrayal At Calth in Early Access for anywhere between six to eight months, so it won’t be launching anytime soon.
However, if you want to learn more about this upcoming real-time strategy game, you can check out the Steam Early Access page for more info.
