Infinity Ward not too long ago posted up a notice about a new studio expansion in Kraków, Poland. The company under Activision, as of now, seeks for game code engineers for a new project, which is likely a new Call of Duty game.
If you don’t know, Infinity Ward is responsible for one of the most down voted video game trailers on YouTube; specifically, they’re responsible for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. The trailer sits at three million dislikes as of this writing, but could the company come back with a better game?
There’s no guarantee that the new Infinity Ward game will be good, mediocre or terrible, but given that publisher Activision likes yearly Call of Duty games to come out, we do know that one of the publisher’s sub-company games is in the works as we speak.
Back on December 15th, Infinity Ward Poland was announced and is said to become home to R&D (research and development). This team will be working closely with the Infinity Ward Los Angeles studio, which the notice explaining this reads:
“We’re thrilled to announce the expansion of our development capabilities with the opening of Infinity Ward Poland,” said Dave Stohl, Studio Head for Infinity Ward. “We’re building a world-class R&D studio that will tap into the creative local game development culture and talent in Poland. This expansion will further solidify our position as one of the most dedicated and accomplished teams in the industry. We look forward to great things to come.”
Michal Drobot or the Principal Rendering Engineer will lead the new Infinity Ward Poland studio. Joining the aforesaid comes news that Infinity Ward is looking for two game code engineers to help contribute ideas for new game code architectures and technologies.
This fuels rumors that the next Call of Duty game or future CoD games could feature changes to their game engine and code. Without diving deeper into the rumor side of things, you can look over the newly posted job listing via Gamasutra:
