Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Full Trailer Sees Chris Pratt Trying To Save Dinosaurs

The sequel to Jurassic World has received its first full trailer. The two and a half minute promotional piece features a rundown of the plot and some of the action you can expect to see from Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

A lot of the story threads that were left at a cliffhanger in the previous film aren’t really touched upon here, but instead it takes a different route… one about saving the dinosaurs. You can check it out below.

The trailer starts with Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt talking it up in a bar. They takl about going to an island to rescue some dinosaurs from an island. There appears to be an actual discussion about the ethics of keeping dinosaurs alive, as well as allowing them to go extinct, and their role in modern day society.

The trailer gives us a brief look at Jeff Goldblum reprising his role from the first two films, giving his naval-gazing speech about dinosaurs having come before man, and if they’re not careful, being there after man.

From there the trailer breaks into action sequence after action sequence. We see Pratt outrunning some dinosaurs, a T-Rex taking a bite out of a fellow predator, and then we get to see the entire island erupting in chaos as a volcano… erupts.

The final scene is Bryce and some other kid in a little ball, falling off a cliff while a bunch of dinosaurs take a leap off the cliff and into the water as burning ash and brimstone fill up the sea.

The trailer is okay. It doesn’t really seem like the mission is all that important. I mean, a bunch of hipsters are essentially going to an island full of dangerous dinosaurs in an attempt to try to save the dino?

The problem is that throwing themselves into danger makes it hard to care about them since for one thing they don’t have any weapons, and second of all they aren’t trained to wrangle dinosaurs. I mean, how did they expect to get all those multi-ton beasts off the island? At least in the original Jurassic World it was a bunch of civilians going to the park and having fun when a rampant dino-experiment gets free and starts killing a bunch of people.

Anyway, the movie is due out on June 22nd, 2018 next year in theaters.
