Resident Evil 7 Director Explains Why Chris Redfield Is Deflated

Chris Redfield’s new design in Resident Evil 7 hasn’t settled too well with some fans and gamers. The amount of people that like his new design can be countered with far more who seemingly don’t. Well, the debate has gained so much traction that Koshi Nakanishi, director of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, had to come out to explain why Redfield looks the way he does in RE7.

Chris Redfield has changed over the course of Resident Evil games quite a bit. From the late 1990’s to the early mid-part of the 2000’s, Redfield was very skinny and did not resemble the Redfield found in 2005 all the way up to 2013 or 2014.

From 2005 on up, we see Redfield put on much more weight, becoming bulky and very muscled up compared to that of the late 1990’s.

Again, his switch in design caused quite the noise among fans from the 1990s to the 2005, similar to the way fans are now reacting to him becoming deflated. The reaction by fans has opted director of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Koshi Nakanishi, to respond in regards to Redfield’s latest design change.

Below is a small snippet about the newly posted video, which serves as an explanation as to why Redfield looks the way that he currently does.

“Koshi Nakanishi, director of Resident Evil 7 biohazard, talks about Chris Redfield’s new appearance. See Chris in action in Not a Hero, out as a free update to all RE7 owners on December 12th!”

The near minute long video is up for your viewing pleasure below.

Some people in the comment section of the video expressed that they openly accept this “new” Redfield, while others feel that Capcom created a brand new character that’s not “the real” Redfield.

The act of Capcom also publishing a new video about Redfield not resembling the one of the past also led people to believe that this is a new character of some sorts, but I guess we’ll find out when the free DLC “Not a Hero” drops on December 12th for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
