During a recent episode of UpUpDownDown, Capcom allowed the popular WWE-oriented gaming YouTube channel to break the news that Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will include an additional mode on top of all the other features it will have: A team elimination mode.
The new mode was rolled out over the course of a series of best out of five, with a 15 minute video showcasing some of the new costumes to blast opponents down into the dirt. The team elimination mode is very similar to the classic 3-on-3 King of Fighter games. You can see how the mode plays out with the video below.
The match features AJ Styles, Jimmy Uso, and Kofi Kingston on a team versus Xavier Woods, Big E, and Jey Uso.
Before the match gets started, we do get a quick look at the options menu, where we can see that the team battle mode allows for multiple players to join in on the fray, where you can select how many teammates will be on each side.
Additionally, you can choose to have it elimination style, and you can choose how much vitality is recovered per each round, which is pretty cool. Usually you don’t see options like that made available in games all that often.
The menu also reveals match time settings, and the ability to choose how many rounds you do per entrant.
You can change up the order, choose to retain the Critical Gauge or allow for a V-Gauge advantage.
It’s nice to see that Capcom has added such a feature to the game. It’s a shame that it wasn’t in there when the game first launched in 2016, but I suppose it’s better late than never that it was added to the options menu.
