Void Dimensions and Oasis Games’ Light Tracer has officially launched launched for HTC Vive on Steam and the PlayStation VR, with the Oculus Rift version to arrive shortly. The game carries a $14.99 price tag and surprisingly has no launch week discount like some other titles out there.
The theme behind Light Tracer is that you have to guide a moe goddess up a series of puzzles to reach the top of the Tower of Bellbatis. The game’s maps are themed around a series of horizontal and vertical puzzles, as you help the princess navigate some of the obstacles and challenges along the way.
You can see what the VR puzzle game is like in action with the launch trailer below, which gives you an idea of what to expect from the title.
I have to admit, it’s kind of funny seeing how you can direct the princess around the map using one of the motion controllers, and then use your in-game hands to interact with her directly. There’s a bit of a VR Chat moment where the player-character directs the princess to the edge of the screen and then proceeds to reach out and shake her hand. It’s a simple gesture but somewhat funny seeing it take place within a game like this.
The core of the game, however, contains eight different chapters set within eight different worlds. Each world has its own quirks and variables to work through, starting from the Gravity World and making your way all the way up to the Angelic City.
Anyway, if you were interested in the game you can pick up a digital copy right now from the PlayStation Store or the Steam store.
