It’s not a good time for Marvel, what with the comic book sales in the gutter and now the company’s reputation at stake with Stan Lee, the 95-year-old comic book creator, being front and center of sexual misconduct claims.
Daily Mail has a detailed report, noting that the 24/7 nursing company that used to take care of Stan Lee have accused him of harassing and assaulting its staff. Lee has since moved on to a new company, who claims that he’s been nothing but gracious. The former caretakers were paid $1,000 a day to provide Lee with his medicine, fetch him food and water, and generally oversee his health on a day to day basis.
The allegations state that Lee asked for oral sex from the nurses, walked around his home disrobed, and used two types of bad words while in the nurses’ presence.
No police reports were filed, but the nurses are asking for compensation from Lee.
According to the Daily Mail, Lee’s attorney, Tom Lallas, has sent out cease and desist letters to the nursing company for defamatory claims. Lee’s lawyer told the Daily Mail…
“Mr. Lee categorically denies these false and despicable allegations and he fully intends to fight to protect his stellar good name and impeccable character.
“We are not aware of anyone filing a civil action, or reporting these issues to the police, which for any genuine claim would be the more appropriate way for it to be handled.
“Instead, Mr. Lee has received demands to pay money and threats that if he does not do so, the accuser will go to the media.
“Mr Lee will not be extorted or blackmailed, and will pay no money to anyone because he has done absolutely nothing wrong.“
The duo plan on fighting the claims.
This comes at a time when Marvel’s own comic book division has been in an abject slump. The comics – since 2012 – have focused more on political propaganda than good storytelling, resulting in their loyal fan base dwindling down most rapidly. Last year in February, Marvel promised to move away from SJW propaganda in their comics, but the process has been long and drawn out in doing so. Eventually they removed the former editor-in-chief and had C.B. Cebulski take charge, who immediately cancelled some of Marvel’s most egregious SJW comic books.
However, the comic division is still in a major sales slump while they attempt to reinvigorate the brand. Having Stan Lee get put into the middle of the cross-hairs of a sexual misconduct case certainly doesn’t help the image of the brand.
On social media there’s a strange overlap with fans believing that this mark against Lee could affect Marvel’s movies. Some are equating this news with a possible black pox on the potential box office run of Marvel’s upcoming Black Panther… even though Stan Lee really has nothing to do with the Marvel Cinematic Universe other than having cameos in the films.
I ain’t ever book tickets this far in advance for a movie before so unless you can show me a video of Stan Lee in Blackface saying “nigger” with real hard Rs wearing a shirt that says “Slavery was great” kiss my black ass I’m seeing that Black Panther.

The media have attempted to reach out to Lee’s copmany, POW! Entertainment, but they declined to comment on the personal matters involving Lee’s life. Despite being huge proponents for social justice and having many Social Justice Warriors working in the comic book division, Marvel appeared to have no comment to add to the matter.
