Sega and Two Point Studio will announce a new game on January 16th. This new project between the two companies has been teased for some time and can be traced back to November, 2017.
Sega has been teasing for a long time that it has ideas of new titles and old classics under its sleeve. This information explaining the above comes from Road to 2020 business presentation for the fiscal year that ended on March 31st, 2017 via segasammy.co.jp.
You can look over Sega’s “Business Strategies” as presented in the bulleted list below:
- Expand existing IPs and obtain new IPs for Western PC games
- Build revenue base by being entrusted with outsourced development
- Challenge for new IPs
- Revival of major IPs
- Effective utilization of development engines
- Create titles that will become global hits
- Established digital marketing business
- Expand overseas publishing business
- Maintain profits through long-term operation of existing titles
- Develop next-generation titles.
One of the major issues that the company wants to tackle is to create titles that will become global hits. As noted above the plans on doing said action by reviving major/old titles to captivate gamers around the world, whilst bringing new IPs to the scene, will supposedly build on momentum and revenue in the future.
And January 16th might bring us something of that level through Two Point Studio. This information comes in by Sega’s official Twitter account.
