Hellmut: The Badass From Hell Trailer Previews Mutant Transformations

Publisher Grindstone Games and Slovakian developer Volcanicc let loose a brand new trailer for the dungeon-crawling, mutant-blasting, rogue-like shooter, Hellmut: The Badass From Hell.

The game is prepping for its release on PC before the third quarter is out this year, and it’s scheduled to drop for the Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch later on in 2018.

The trailer covers the transmutation process that you’ll be able to go through, embodying different mutants on your war path for vengeance. The interesting thing about it is that the different characters you play each have their own abilities and skill sets on top of the different weapon stashes you can unlock during your playthrough. You can get a look at a few of them in the trailer below.

The three different classes are showcased, including the Rat King, Stitchmonster and the Construct. The Construct can use a portable shield to protect itself against incoming attacks, while the Stitchmonster can use a short-range attack to disperse of nearby enemies and the Rat King… well, I’m not really sure what it can do.

Peter Nagy, CEO of Grindstone, commented about the upcoming game, stating that Hellmut‘s hook is in its transformations, mentioning in the press release…

“What makes Hellmut different from anything on the market right now is the Transformations feature, which allows players to instantly switch among various characters adding another layer of strategy into the game”

The developers at Volcanicc are actually finishing up closed beta testing with a select group of gamers who are giving their input and helping to iron out some of the kinks that need to be addressed ahead of its launch.

Hellmut: The Badass From Hell is due out on both Steam and GOG.com when it finally does release. For now you can visit the Steam store page to add it to your wishlist or keep tabs on the GOG.com page if you’re interested in the DRM-free version. The game will be available for $14.99.
