Romance O f The Three Kingdoms: The Legend of CaoCao Registration Opens For iPhone Users

Nexon and Thingsoft have announced that registration has opened up for the upcoming release for Romance of the Three Kingdoms: The Legend of CaoCao for mobile devices. The registration has opened up first and foremost for iPhone users and it will be available for Android users soon.

You can register for Romance of the Three Kingdoms over on the iTunes app store.

The game isn’t expected to go live for iPhone users until February 23rd at the end of the month.

Thingsoft’s take on Romance of the Three Kingdoms is actually a remake of the turn-based grand strategy game that Koei Tecmo made way back in the day. And yes, this is literally based on those old SNES tactical strategy games from the 1990s that were very popular in Japan. Recently Koei has been experimenting with bringing over some of their more niche titles to the West that previously were only available in Asia… but that’s beside the point.

The mobile version of Romance of the Three Kingdoms: The Legend of CaoCao will see players assembling their armies under Cao Cao in a quest to both dominate and unite the three kingdoms under his rule.

You’ll be able to utilize turn-based tactical strategies across both single-player story missions against the AI and against other players in the PvP mode. Additionally, you can also work with other players in the co-op modes, if you so please.

The game isn’t very large and utilizes sprite-based visuals, so it clocks in at just 285MB, so even older phones should be able to run it without too many problems.

The assets for the game are rather thin but that hasn’t stopped players from registering to play the game. In fact Nexon supports player registration from 149 countries, including the Americas, Europe, and Southeast Asian territories.

You can look for Romance of the Three Kingdoms: The Legend of CaoCao to go live next week for iPhones. You’ll have to stay tuned in for the registration period opening for Android devices.
