Trailblazers, Arcade Racing Game To Hit PC, PS4, Xbox One And Switch Spring 2018

Trailblazers is an upcoming racing game that explores arcade-like racing mechanics along with co-op features. The PC, PS4, Xbox One and Switch title is in development by Rising Star Games and Supergonk, and will release this year’s spring.

Sporting a colorful atmosphere and a somewhat soft look comes that of Trailblazers. The racing game uses paint as one of its pivotal points to move forward in a race, which grants a multiplicative boost upon hitting your own paint on the next lap or a teammate’s paint slab in front of you.

Crossing the checkered line marks the winner as per usual. However with the act of repainting over opponent’s paint and navigating wacky tracks could mix up who wins and how.

“Trailblazers is a fresh new co-operative racing title with an innovative on-track game mechanic: paint the track, boost on your colour and work as a team to win!”

The above description tags along with the latest trailer announcement that shows in-game footage and gameplay. Moreover, the one minute and 36 second long trailer comes in by Rising Star Games as seen below.

According to the devs, the game flaunts high-speed tracks in unique 3 Vs. 3 team races across a series of colorful circuits. The act of painting the track can secure key areas to “dynamically change” the race and how it plays out, almost like a racing version of Splatoon.

Trailblazers can be played online, solo or in split-screen. On the topic of playing solo, the racing game will launch with a single-player story mode that contains chapters and a series of objectives to complete.

Lastly, if you want to know a little bit about the new independent studio Supergonk, which is based in Guildford, UK, it is formed of industry veterans with over 10 years of “top-flight game development expertise” at studios such as Codemasters, Bizarre Creations, and Lionhead.

While we wait to see if Supergonk’s upcoming creation is actually high-quality, you can look forward to Trailblazers release for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Switch this spring.
