Whatever your thoughts may be about Ubisoft it seems that you’ll have more to ponder over for their future games given that live services don’t seem to be going away. Recently, the company disclosed during its quarterly investor conference call its outlook on loot-boxes and microtransactions.

According to CFO Martinez he explains that Ubisoft sees loot-boxes and microtransactions as a “question of quality” and “choice,” and that applies to all kinds of player recurring investment.

CEO Guillemot believes Ubisoft needs to deliver the proper quality for anyone to be interested, but he also noted that customers need to feel that they are “free not to buy” loot-boxes or make microtransactions given that they have a “choice”.

The two believe the way recent Ubisoft games include microtransactions, like in Rainbow Six Siege and Assassin’s Creed, has been “well received” by gamers since it’s “done right”.

CEO Guillemot and CFO Martinez feel that Ubisoft as a whole is going in the right direction and that there isn’t a major regulatory issue that they might face in regards to loot-boxes, microtransactions and live services.
