Level-5’s Akihiro Hino Confirms Nintendo Switch Support And Level-5 Vision 2018

Level-5 and company’s CEO, Akihiro Hino, have been in the news quite a bit recently, especially following the information that was revealed that Level-5 is looking to make an MMO-scale game in modern times. Level-5 is now back in the news again, this time confirming that they have plans on shipping games that will appear on the Nintendo Switch.

Publication site trendy.nikkeibp.co.jp posted up an interview with Level-5 president and CEO, Akihiro Hino, to discus the company’s plans for the Nintendo Switch and the Level-5 Vision 2018 event set to kick-off this fall.

Firstly, the interview touched on the company’s vision for 3DS games and plans for future main titles. Hino replied and gave the following answer:

“Basically, in the future our main titles will all be released on Nintendo Switch. The idea is that what we have created for 3DS will move over to Switch.”

In other words, games that were intended to release for the 3DS will now be moved over to the Switch. This sounds like it includes current and future games under Level-5’s belt.

In addition to the above, this does not specifically mean that some of the games for Switch will be exclusive to said console. It could mean that there is a focus to get current and future games over to the Switch, while still releasing across platforms like PC, and PS4. Time will surely tell.

The interview covered a host of other things about Level-5, but one highlight of the piece touched on Level-5 Vision 2018. The last event was held back in 2016, and will now continue as of this year as noted by Hino:

“I would like to make clear our standing as a company in the industry during Level-5 Vision 2018, which will be held in the fall. In 2018, in addition to thanking the various companies that have been involved with us, this year will likely be a turning point where we will henceforth properly represent those relationships.”

Level-5’s first Switch title will be “The Snack World: Trejarers Gold,” which has a due date in Japan of April 12th, 2018.
