Ubisoft has decided to jump in on the remastered, re-release train. It’s been a lucrative venture for Activision so far, so if it works with Call of Duty games why not try it with Assassin’s Creed titles, too? Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed: Rogue Remastered is a re-release of the PS3 and Xbox 360 title from 2014, upscaled and detailed for the Xbox One and PS4. There’s a gameplay walkthrough available for the newly released remastered edition of Assassin’s Creed: Rogue.
YouTuber MKIceandFire rolled out a seven part playlist featuring a complete gameplay walkthrough for Assassin’s Creed: Rogue Remastered. You can check it out below.
Use the left analog to move around and hold down the right analog stick to free-run and perform parkour.
You can jump by pressing ‘A’ on the Xbox controller or ‘X’ on the DualShock.
While climbing up objects, you can drop down by pressing ‘B’ on the Xbox controller or Circle on the DualShock.
You can interact with objects by pressing ‘B’ on the Xbox controller.
Press ‘X’ on the Xbox controller to attack, which is Square on the DualShock controller. You can counter enemy attacks or parry using ‘B’ on the Xbox controller or Circle on the DualShock.
Free The Smugglers
Your first mission is to free the smugglers from the British. If you can manage to take out all the British without being seen you’ll earn extra points.
Make your way onto the boat and kill the other British soldiers to trigger a cinematic and take control of the ship.
Use ‘B’ on the Xbox controller to slowdown or Circle to on the DualShock. Use the left or right triggers to fire the ship’s cannons.
You can also dodge incoming attacks by using the ‘X’ button on the Xbox controller or the Square button on the DualShock.
Once you take out the enemy ships the genetic memory will fail and you’ll end up in the worst part of the game… outside of the animus.
You’ll have to follow agent Decosta down to the server room where you’ll need to reboot the servers.
Simply make sure each blue beam is aimed at a different aspect of the sphere.
Follow the map on your tablet to the computer station to repair the station and learn more about some of the ancient artifacts and other clues related to the lore.
When you’re ready to get done dealing with the cancer, head to the exclamation mark on the tablet map to start the next mission.
Head to the training area and go talk to each of the NPCs. They each teach you how to do important stuff, including firing the guns with ‘Y’ on the Xbox controller or Triangle on the DualShock. Use the lefty bumper to reload the guns.
Next, go talk to Hope. You’ll need to kill the targets without being spotted.
Next go talk to Kesegowaase and he will teach you how to track down and hunt animals. If you’ve played previous Assassin’s Creed games then this is really nothing special.
Head to Achilles to complete your training.
The next mission is to follow a lead while traveling the eastern seas.
You’ll want to follow the blue exclamation nav marker.
You can use the digital pad to change the song for the sea shanty, if you’re into that sort of thing. Hold down up on the digital pad to use the scope to zoom in.
Go talk to the French Assassin and then travel northwest through the sea to incapacitate the British schooners. When they catch fire get close and hold down ‘B’ on the Xbox One controller or Circle on the PS4 controller to board the ship, just like docking.
You’ll be forced to dock to upgrade the Morgan at Perce, which is just north of where you incapacitated the British schooners.
You can upgrade the Morgan’s hull at the dock. Once you’re done proceed to make your way north toward Anticosti.
After taking out more of the British ships in battle, proceed to dock at the island and hop off the boat.
Proceed up the steps to go talk to the spy located inside the tower.
A short cinematic will play and you’ll complete the mission. Along the way you can complete some side missions, such as saving the hostages or uncovering the fog of war by synchronizing.
Keep in mind that while side-activities like freeing hostages might seem pointless, freeing them will add to your total crew count, which is important if you engage in plenty of battles and occasionally lose men here and there.
Your next task is to head toward River Valley after you return to the ship.
As you upgrade your ship you’ll gain additional hull HP and improved speed, weapons and maneuverability. Also, the gauge just beneath your hull HP is your crew’s HP. It will lower if you take too much damage from crashing the ship or getting shot from enemy ships.
When you make your way to the River Valley port, begin the Invitation Only mission by talking to the NPC.
After another short cinematic, head back to the Morgan and proceed to locate the ship and tail the shipment. The nav marker for the ship will pop up on the screen, so all you have to do is tail the shipment at a distance.
Tail the ship to the island and dock the boat.
Proceed to parkour around the shoreline of the island through the rocks and trees to reach the dock where the British man-o-war is docking.
Enter into the restricted area with the British soldiers and you can either take them out stealthily or go through guns-a-blazin’.
The objective is to get onto the boat and loot the package.
You’ll acquire the air rifle, which can be used to either cause enemies to go berserk or to put them to sleep. It’s an excellent long-range weapon for those who prefer to play stealthily.
Your next task is to locate Lawrence Washington, who is at the garden party beyond the veranda.
You can use the synchronization point to get into the garden.
You’ll need to sneak through the estate undetected to kill Washington. Use the air rifle to take out the guards or to take out Washington.
You can use the rooftops to get the drop on Washington and his men.
Proceed to escape from the estate using the trees and rooftops and get back to the Morgan, which is taking a lot of damage off the shore. You’ll have a limited amount of time to reach the Morgan, so don’t dilly dally around like a politician during a filibuster.
Get outside of the red danger area and dock at the closest port.
After a small time skip, you’ll need to travel 2km to the next mission.
Proceed to St. John’s port and go talk to Chevalier.
You’ll also unlock the Puckle gun cylinder for the Morgan. You can use the Puckle gun using the right bumper. It requires free-aim.
You’ll need to catch Samuel Smith – use the Puckle gun to destroy the icebergs in your path to give chase.
Smith will lead you through the trenches of icebergs and scallywags; destroy both of them.
Catch up to Smith at the Terra Nova dock in the north.
You’ll also learn about the rope dart assassination technique. You can use ‘Y’ on the Xbox One controller or Triangle on the PS4 controller to select and fire the rope dart. If you use it from above an opponent while on a pole or tree, hold down on the left analog stick to jump down and pull the enemy into the air to hang them to death.
You can attempt to use it on Smith.
You’ll also unlock the ability to use burning oil on the sea. You can use this by firing on the oil patches and holding down the right trigger to leave a trail.
A native pillar is also located just inside the cave beyond where Smith was killed. You can collect the totems throughout the game world.
Sequence 2: We The People
Your next mission starts the second sequence, located in Albany, New York.
You’ll need to use stealth to bypass the British troops. Use the tall grass and haystacks to make your way toward the Congressional meeting.
The air rifle will come in handy here as you proceed toward the Albany Congress hall.
