Stunlock Studios released a new trailer for their latest hero set to arrive on the roster, Ulric The Unwavering Light. The Paladin is set to join Battlerite, the free-to-play MOBA, starting March 28th.
Ulric is hailed as a devout follower of the “Way of Symphony”, and engages in the pious practice of the light. He trained at the Monastery of Resonance and has joined the Arena battle to prove that the light is the way of the true path.
You can check out his introductory cinematic below.
Keeping in tune with the symphonic theme of Ulric’s motif, the trailer is set to a string ensemble while Ulric goes through his Paladin’s mantra.
We then see Ulric charging into the arena battles, using his shield bash, hammer attacks, and charge-up moves.
If we’re comparing him to similar characters, he’s a little like Reinhardt from Overwatch fused with Johanna from Heroes of the Storm. He gives you a lot of the standard defensive abilities from the former, with the charging DSP skills from the latter.
Surprisingly, the press release doesn’t detail any of Ulric’s moves. The description page on the YouTube trailer also forfeits any details on Ulric. I imagine that you’ll have to wait until next week to get more definitive details closer to March 28th when the Paladin becomes available in Battlerite.
Of course, if you don’t mind some postulating and information excavating, you can check out an overview of Ulric from YouTuber Battlerite Sage.
Stunlock Studios has been slowly introducing new characters to the game every so often, building on the budding success that it achieved since their MOBA landed on Steam.
Battlerite is currently available right now as a free-to-play MOBA over on the Steam store page. If you want to check it out you can, and it won’t cost you anything but some bandwidth and some gigabyte.
