Jalopy Graduates From Early Access With Multi-Language Support, Trading Cards

Excalibur Games and Minskworks announced that after two years of development, Jalopy is currently out of the forging fires and ripe and ready for purchase from the digital store shelves.

The game took the gaming world by storm back in 2016 as this irreverent cross-country roadtrip themed around fixing up and maintaining your very own jalopy. The objective was to keep the engine running, keep the wheels on, and keep the car from falling apart while making long and winding trips around the stretching bends of road throughout the countryside.

The game poised itself somewhere between a comedic adventure game and a vehicular simulator. The tongue-in-cheek aspect combined with the lo-fi graphics helped the early access version of Jalopy move ore than 100,000 copies since its Early Access run two years ago.

You can check out the launch trailer for the game below to get an idea of what the gameplay is like and how the sandbox style approach to exploration works in Jalopy.

The launch trailer actually does a fine job of explaining exactly how the game is played, which consists of picking up items on the side of the road and selling them at local general stores. You’ll need to avoid smuggling illegal goods into or out of the region, and you can also find components at local junkyards and dealerships.

Players will travel across Germany, Bulgaria, Turkey, Czech Republic, and Yugoslavia, moving through highways, forests, dirt roads and mountains.

The 1.0 release of Jalopy supports a number of different languages, including: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, Turkish, Hungarian, Chinese (Simplified), Dutch, Norwegian, Finnish, Polish, Slovakian, Romanian, Croatian.

You can pick up a digital copy of Jalopy right now for $14.99. The game is discounted during the first week of being available on Steam at a 40% discount for only $8.99. You can learn more or pick up a digital copy by visiting the Steam store page.
