Monster Hunter: World Shipments Reach Over 7.5 Million

Capcom released Monster Hunter: World on January 26th, 2018 and managed to ship millions of copies, reaching 7.5 million units and counting. Capcom released this information on March 5th, 2018 to reflect Monster Hunter: World’s success.

Thanks to capcom.co.jp we learn that Monster Hunter: World’s total worldwide shipments and digital download sales have surpassed 7.5 million. This is good news for the game in that it has become Capcom’s best selling title.

The investor relation report further details that Monster Hunter: World is not only doing well, but has overcome several barriers to sate over 7 million players.

The investor relation report explaining the above can be read below:

“Capcom Co., Ltd. (Capcom) today announced that Monster Hunter: World for the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system and Xbox One has shipped 7.5 million units worldwide (including digital download sales). A PC version is to be released at a later date.”

The letter continues and reads:

“As a result, Monster Hunter: World has overcome both linguistic and cultural barriers to delight approximately 7 million players worldwide, and has shipped 7.5 million units, making it the best-selling title in company history.”

According to Media Create February 19th – February 25th report, we learn that Monster Hunter: World PS4 sales were at the top of the crop, a position it held since launch, moving 53,982 units.

Also according to Media Create, it notes that 1,890,273 units of the 7.5 million are retail sales for the PS4 version in Japan.

To sum up the above, Monster Hunter: World is doing very well and stands as a milestone for Capcom according to the company’s investor relation report.

As noted above, Monster Hunter: World released for PS4 and Xbox One on January 26th, 2018. The former platform released worldwide, while the latter platform lunched in North America and Europe. A PC version is currently in the works and is set to debut this fall.
