Star Wars Battlefront 2 March Progression Update Set To Release March 21st

EA and DICE have announced that Star Wars Battlefront 2 will receive the March progression update in the next seven days. Players on PC, PS4, and Xbox will gain access to this update, which is set for March 21st.

Over on ea.com it is said that the March progression update in its current state is now linear. Star Cards or any other item that affects actual gameplay will only be earned through gameplay and will not be available for purchase.

Players will be able to earn experience points for classes, hero characters, and ships in multiplayer. When enough experience points are earned to gain a level for that unit, one Skill Point will be distributed for use to unlock or upgrade an eligible Star Card.

According to EA and DICE update post, players will keep everything that has been earned and unlocked. This includes all of the Star Cards, heroes, weapons, and anything unlocked/earned through a playthrough.

The update post also details that Crates no longer include Star Cards and cannot be purchased. Furthermore, Crates are earned by logging in daily, taking up Milestones, and earned through timed challenges.

Inside a Crate, players will find Credits or cosmetic items, such as emotes or victory poses, but nothing that can alter gameplay.

As for the future and starting in April, players will be able to obtain appearances only through in-game Credits or Crystals.

The first new batch of appearances are said to be coming soon, meaning players will be able to equip new looks for heroes and troopers directly by using either Credits (earned in-game) or Crystals (available to purchase in-game or through first-party stores).

The update post also reveals the following information:

“These changes are a major step as we continue to improve the core of the game and add new content. And there’s a lot more to come. In addition to continued balance patches, we will also add a number of modes to Star Wars Battlefront II in the coming months, offering several standout, brand-new ways to play. Some of these, like the recently released limited-time Jetpack Cargo, are radically different than anything you’ve experienced in the game before, and we’re excited to surprise you with what we have planned.”

Lastly, EA and DICE will ship this Star Wars Battlefront 2 progression update to players on March 21st, which applies to PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
