NIS America announced that the PS4 JRPG exclusive, The Witch and the Hundred Knight 2, is currently available for purchase right now from participating distributors.

The game centers around the land of Kevala, which has been overthrown with a rather mysterious curse that turns little girls into vicious and dangerously powerful witches. One of the girls afflicted by the curse is Milm, who becomes trapped in her own mind after showing signs of exhibiting the curse. Eventually Milm falls victim to the tragic results, turning into a full blown witch. Her older sister Amelia and the Hundred Knight attempt to alleviate her of the witch’s ailment by journeying across the land for a cure.

However, Milm reawakens as the Witch Chelka, wrought with the intention of destruction. Players will take control of the Hundred Knight as he attempts to battle on behalf of the sisters to save Milm’s soul. A gameplay trailer quickly covers the basics while introducing players to some of the interactive and combat mechanics of The Witch and the Hundred Knight 2.

The gameplay is played out through isometric, real-time action-oriented combat. You’ll have various weapons and magic at your disposal, switching and altering between attacks in order to make the most out of the Knight’s abilities, including making use of Tochkas and Facets to help aid in boosting the Knight’s skills on the battlefield.

It’s not all just a retread of what was done in The Witch and the Hundred Knight. The developer also expanded on the combat system, enabling more attacks and magic buffs that the witches can use to aid the Knight in combat, along with the new mid-combat weapon change system. This allows players to swap out weapons right during the middle of battle.

The mid-combat weapon change essentially allows players to string together different combos with different weapons in quick succession.

You’ll venture through some creepy swamps, some monster-filled castles, and the typical dungeons in order to same Milm. The Witch and the Hundred Knight 2 is available right now for the PS4 for $49.99 both at physical retail outlets and via digital distribution.
