Column: Volume 1 Graphic Novel Seeks Kickstarter Funds For Physical Print
Column Graphic Novel

Raw Blink Productions have taken to Kickstarter to raise funds for a physical print run of their graphic novel, Column: Volume 1. The action-comedy comic book is currently available digitally over on Comix Central, where you can get a 22-page look at the first volume… for free.

The Kickstarter campaign is seeking $10,000 to bring Column: Volume 1 to life as a physical collectible, and they currently have 27 days left as of the writing of this article. The physical rendition of the graphic novel will also come with audio logs voiced by various dubbing talent from the animated voice acting community. Including Luci Christian, Colleen Clinkenbeard, Cherami Leigh, Alexis Tipton, and Kate Bristol to name a few.

The pitch video below gives you an idea of what Raw Blink is aiming to do and what sort of rewards they have in store for backers.

The story of the first volume of Columnfocuses on a sexy all-female tank crew featuring some. The crew is known as the Helcat, manning a U.S. Army M1A2 Abrams battle tank during World War III.

The novel follows the groups efforts against an enemy known as the Meta-National Transitory Pact. If the enemies were self-proclaimed Anarcho-Communists or Global Socio-Marxists, I’m sure most people would be nodding right along thinking how realistic the graphic novel is.

However, Raw Blink’s Column isn’t trying to be realistic. The novel is filled with action, comedic moments and lighthearted encounters themed around typical mangas. In fact, the character designs are very reminiscent of typical Moe/Chibi designs.

The hook for the graphic novel is that the Metas have managed to utilize an EMP-style disruptor to render long range guided weaponry and electronic over-the-air communications useless, forcing the fight to take place on the ground. While the battle initially seems to be a losing one, the Helcats attempt to turn the tide… but there’s a twist to the story that unfolds over the course of the novel.

The Helcats end up teaming with two civilians, Jack and Hatch from the Civil Defense Corps, who accompany them on a suicide mission to take out the Disruptor Cannon.
