Conan Exiles Launches May 8th For PC, PS4, Xbox One

Funcom announced that Conan Exiles will graduate from Early Access on May 8th next month. The game will come out of the development phase and will finally be available in full with all new content, an overhaul in balance, an improved combat system, and all new areas to explore.

Additionally, Xbox One and PS4 gamers will have access to the full version as well, with PS4 gamers being able to play Conan Exiles for the very first time.

As pointed out by creative director Joel Bylos, they’ve been working to fill out large portions of the sandbox so that the game is fulfilling and exciting no matter where players are in the game world. Bylos states in the press release…

“[…] it’s certainly not an empty sandbox and we’ve gone to great lengths to give the world a sense of place and history. Players will come upon points of interest as they explore the world, characters they can interact with, and they can delve into dungeons and uncover the secrets of ancient civilizations. Conan Exiles is definitely about surviving and building your own world, but it’s also about discovering the world that we have crafted.”

You can actually see some of what you can do in the game world with the gameplay trailer below.

The trailer accompanies a new entry over on the Conan Exiles website, where they detail all of the new features added to the game, including the new swords, daggers, hammers, maces, spears, and bows, along with all new attack animations, counters, sweeps, cleaves, and dashes. The idea is to make the combat mirror Frazetta’s vision of the sword and sandals fantasy present in the Conan The Barbarian mythos.

They’ve introduced all new monsters, all new gods, and all new biomes to explore and survive through, including the Frozen North, and a variety of new factions and cultures that have come along with it.

As usual, the physics-based deconstruction mechanics are still in place, along with the ability to build and formulate your own structures such as houses, shops, and castles.
