Tripwire Interactive announced that the release date for Killing Floor: Incursion on the PlayStation 4 for the PlayStation VR headset is set for May 1st, 2018 next month.
The announcement came courtesy of a post over on the PlayStation Blog, where Tripwire president John Gibson informed the PlayStation universe that the VR shooter would be making its way to Sony’s VR headset.
Gibson also talked about the new Crucible map, which is designed around and inspired by Tron‘s high-contrasting aesthetic. Gibson mentions in the blog post…
“The Crucible started out as our development arena for trying out gameplay ideas in the Holdout game mode. When playing it though, we found the map was so fun that we made the decision to fully flesh it out and add it in for PS VR players to enjoy.”
The Killing Floor: Incursion game is a story-based excursion into the realm of Killing Floor, giving gamers the first lore-based campaign experience. Players are put into the role of a Horzine security forces soldier who has been wounded in combat and has been put into a neurological simulation while the doctors attempt to repair the soldier’s body.
Killing Floor: Incursion already released for HTC Vive and the Oculus Rift. The game allows players to explore various environments to scavenge for weapons and gear while fighting off the inhuman Zed monstrosities.
The game originally came out back in November of 2017 for PC. So there’s been able time for gamers to get acquainted with the Killing Floor universe in VR,
The game allows you to acquire many of the same weapons from the main game. There’s also a Holdout Mode that’s similar to the traditional co-op survival mode available in the non VR version of the game.
To help make things a little more interesting there’s also a cooperative mode within the campaign, for those who enjoy a little company while slicing off heads and dismembering bodies with shotgun blasts.
Killing Floor: Incursion will be available for $29.99 when it release on May 1st for the PlayStation VR.
