Marvel’s Spider-Man Launches Sept 7th; Post-Launch DLC Announced

Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Spider-Man just received a release date of September 7th, 2018 for the PlayStation 4. The game isn’t even close to being out yet but the developers and Sony have already begun detailing the post-launch DLC. Yes, they’re already discussing the post-launch DLC.

The news was rolled out over on the official PlayStation Blog by community director, James Stevenson, who revealed the final box art for Marvel’s Spider-Man and that the game will cost $59.99 for the standard edition, and $79.99 for the digital deluxe edition. The deluxe edition comes with the Marvel’s Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps DLC pack, which includes three additional story missions with all new playable chapters, along with new characters and villains, and new unlockable suits for Spider-Man.

And speaking of unlockable suits… the pre-order bonus for the game includes a Spidey Suit Pack, which features three bonus outfits for Spider-Man, a spider-drone gadget, a PSN avatar, a PS4 theme and five extra skill points.

The other two suits included in the pre-order bonus will supposedly be revealed later this summer.

There’s also a collector’s edition, which comes with a custom steelbook, a mini art book, a white spider sticker, a Spider-Man statue (that will be revealed sometime later this summer), and the DLC from the digital deluxe edition.

The collector’s edition will run you $149.99 in USD, and thievery in CDN.

They also dropped a pre-order bonus trailer just to really drive the point home that they want your hard earned money being put down for a game that barely has any actual gameplay available at the moment.

The pre-order bonus pack trailer showcases Spider-Man in one of his bonus costumes and reveals that the other costumes will be revealed in July.

Also, as the main header image reveals, there are other unlockable costumes in the game as well, each with their own attributes and abilities, not unlike previous Spider-Man games that have come out in the past. Also, don’t be surprised if more DLC is announced ahead of the game’s release this September.
