After years of giving gamers terrible games as part of the PlayStation Plus line-up, with a few decent titles sprinkled in every so often, Sony decided to finally give PlayStation Plus subscribers something partially decent for May with Quantic Dream’s PS4 remaster of the PS3 exclusive Beyond: Two Souls, along with the PS4 rendition of Ubisoft’s Rayman Legends.
Now this isn’t to say that Beyond: Two Souls is a good game, not by a long shot. It is to say that it’s an AAA tier title, and those have been in short supply for PlayStation Plus subscribers.
The full list of games was rolled out over on the PlayStation Blog, with PS3 and PS Vita gamers being tossed some scraps.
- Beyond: Two Souls – PS4
- Rayman Legends – PS4
- Risen 3: Titan Lords – PS3
- Eat Them! – PS3
- King Oddball – PS Vita with cross-buy support for PS3 and PS4
- Furmins – PS Vita
Technically, Risen 3: Titan Lords isn’t that bad of an offering, but the rest are worthless.
Sony decided to offer up Beyond: Two Souls as a way to celebrate the upcoming release of the Quantic Dream title, Detroit: Become Human.
Beyond: Two Souls was mostly forgettable save for the mod to see Ellen Page naked.
The mod received widespread media attention, which helped put Quantic Dream’s game in the spotlight a lot longer than it ever deserved.
This time around David Cage is in the spotlight for suing SJW media outlets for running some hit pieces on Quantic Dream and Detroit: Become Human. It’s almost like an SJW vs SJW fight.
Anyway, PS Plus for the month of May doesn’t hold a candle to the Xbox Games With Gold for May, but it does seem to offer a slightly better slate of titles than the typical hipster indie trash that Sony has been rolling out over the last couple of years.
