Sucker Punch Productions Is Looking For A QA Lead For Ghost Of Tsushima

Although any new info from Sucker Punch Productions for Ghost of Tsushima has not come forth recently, a new job listing for the game has popped up a few days ago, with the team looking for a QA Lead. This person will help Sucker Punch by establishing a team to work on test procedures, quality checks, and helping the company make “a great game.”

As it stands right now, especially with the most recent job listings, Ghost of Tsushima will not likely release in 2018. The open world game set in the year 1274 will likely come out in 2019 or maybe even 2020.

In addition to the above, the team is looking for a QA Lead —  and if Days Gone is any indication, a QA position popped up back on January 19th, 2018, during the time when the game had a 2018 release window, but it was later moved to 2019, which means that Ghost of Tsushima could end up staying behind the development curtain for quite  some time.

On the flip-side of things, it doesn’t mean a new trailer or gameplay video won’t release any time soon, it just means that Ghost of Tsushima will need further polish and testing. We know this because it’s featured on the QA Lead’s responsibility list:

  • Coordinate staffing process for the QA team, then manage the team you’ve put together.
  • Define test procedures, coordinate development of test plans, and  manage the test process.
  • Keep a critical eye for game quality, advocating for the player’s interests.
  • Help us ship a fun, robust, and highly polished game.

The bulleted responsibility list is also accompanied by a notice reading that Sucker Punch is currently hard at work on Ghost of Tsushima, and that they’re trying their best to make it a great game:

“Here at Sucker Punch we’re hard at work on Ghost of Tsushima —it’s going to be great, by the way—and we’re looking for an experienced lead to build our QA team. You will be responsible for hiring and managing a small team, creating test procedures, automating process, and helping us navigate the arduous road leading to a great game.”

Time will tell how Sucker Punch’s open world game set in the year of 1274 will turn out. In the meantime, you can either look over the new job listing or you can visit suckerpunch.com.
