More Than 30 Minutes Of Days Gone Gameplay Arrives

Bend Studio has opened up a lot more about Days Gone, allowing gamers to take a nice look at the 2019 PS4 game. Well over 30 minutes of in-game footage has appeared that show off various actions and things that you can do in Days Gone.

Without wasting any time, you can get a good look at Days Gone “first hour” of gameplay, which was made possible through a collaboration that  Bend Studio struck up with Game Informer. The video sits below for your viewing pleasure.

The gameplay video is joined by a new description explaining the basic setting of Days Gone and who you will be assuming in the struggle for survival:

“At its core, Days Gone is about survivors and what makes them human: desperation, loss, madness, betrayal, friendship, brotherhood, regret, love – and hope. It’s about how even when confronted with such enormous tragedy they find a reason to live. Hope never dies.

Play as Deacon St. John, a bounty hunter facing a brutal struggle for survival, searching for a reason to live.”

As for key features, Days Gone is said to flaunt a list of different enemy types, a variety of geographical settings, and a crafting system. A more in-depth look at some of the features in the game can be found below.

Different Enemies: Deacon must face a wilderness overrun by Freakers, accompanied by human drifters, marauders, and other dangerous groups. Freakers have needs, habits, and behaviors that the player can learn and use against them.

The Setting: Days Gone offers a variety of environments in a single geographical area. From the harsh high-desert of the Pacific Northwest to a pristine forest, the game offers a list of places to explore like snowfields, lush meadows, lava fields, and more.

The World: Running on Unreal Engine 4, Days Gone offers an ever-changing experience. Deacon’s drifter bike can take a player to fully opened areas or tight places with abandoned vehicles that can be searched for useful items. Towns and buildings can be fully explored and searched at any time. Lighting is done in real time and takes advantage of “eye adaption tech” that can either hinder or help a player in dark or bright places. Weather also affects the environment and enemy behavior, too.

The Combat – Every challenge in the game can be approached and completed in a number of ways. Different items and weapons can be crafted using items found lying around the world, including brutal melee weapons and traps, which can be customized along with a list of skills.

Days Gone will debut sometime in 2019 for PS4.
