Before jumping into the actual longer interview, you can read over some highlights from the nearly 40-minute long interview right here:

Firstly, Code Vein is finished or done according to Dmitryi. However, the overall game is in the touch-up phase and needs polishing and refinement. This can be heard during the interview at 4:30.

Moreover, the interview also touched on character customization, which is said to be “hugely important” according to Dmitryi. This can be heard at the 5:00-minute mark. In addition to character customization, folks interested in a certain slider can rest easy now since Dmitryi has confirmed that the “Boob slider” is in the game.

Moving on, Dmitryi noted that each weapon and armor type has their own attributes and stats. He also noted that there is a pseudo-class system called “Blood Code.” Depending on the Blood Code you pick can affect your overall attributes for better or for worse.

In addition to the above, if you pick a berserker class, you will have higher strength than say a ranger class.

Nevertheless, you will able to upgrade your character stats using a thing called “Haze.” Dmitryi used a Dark Souls comparison and said that Haze is basically the equivalent of Souls in this game, which is used to upgrade your weapons and armor. Dmitryi also added that when you die you will lose them and you’ll need to go back and retrieve them.

It’s also worth noting that there are these things called “Mists,” which are like the equivalent of Bonfires. In other words, when you die, you’ll restart wherever you last encountered one.

Moreover, PvP is up in the air as well as a Switch version of the game. However, depending on how well the game performs sales wise on PC, PS4, and Xbox One will determine if a Switch version will be made. Both the former and latter points can be found at 10:38 and 12:52.

As for resolution, FPS, and PC options, Dmitryi notes that the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X will be able to run Code Vein at 4K and 60FPS, while the PC version, through PC config options, can run the game well above 60FPS.

It’s worth noting that the base versions of the PS4 and Xbox One will run the game at 1080p and 30FPS. All of the above can be found at 13:45 and 18:13.

As for how long it will take to beat Code Vein, Dmitryi notes that it will take 40 plus hours to beat the main campaign. While on the topic of the story, Code Vein story will be handed to you through cut-scenes instead of being vague or hidden behind collectibles as noted at 15:43.

Furthermore, Code Vein has been in development more than three years as noted at 16:16. The good news is that Code Vein will be at E3 2018 thanks to Dmitryi hinting at one of the team’s cosplayers, Vanessa Fruitcake, who will be at this year’s E3. In other words, we will see what this three-year-plus project will bring come June.

Lastly, there will be no loot-boxes or microtransactions, no crafting mechanics, and no adjustable difficulty settings.

With all of that said and summed up, you can watch the full interview that went down on Kofi’s YouTube channel right here, which features Kofi, JMaine, and Bandai Namco’s community specialist Dmitryi.
