Focus Home Interactive announced that Big Bad Wolf’s second episode for The Council is due for release later this month on May 15th for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. You’ll be able to pick up Episode 2: Hide and Seek from the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store and Steam store.
Anyone who purchased the season pass for The Council will automatically receive the game starting May 15th along with all the other future episodes due for release later in the year.
The trailer they released is just an accolades trailer, so you won’t find out anything new about the second episode from there.
The press release does go a bit more in depth as to what you can expect from Episode 2, explaining that it picks up where Episode 1 left off. Players will control Louis de Richet and attempt to solve the mystery surrounding the disappearance of his mother.
During the first episode Louis spent time moseying around Lord Mortimer’s estate after being invited to the island on his mother’s behalf. Players had the option of forming relationships and rivalries based on who they trusted and who they betrayed.
Unlike other games, there are no second chances in The Council, and you simply have to live with the consequences of your choices, which carry over into each episode.
Many players will find out exactly what’s going on at the estate as Episode 2 centers in on the arrival of Lord Mortimer himself.
There will be new areas of the mansion to explore, along with new characters for whom you can interact.
The game takes a very different approach to the adventure game genre, insofar that players can level up Louis’ skills based on various class types. Each class has a specialty that will unlock pathways and opportunities in the game to excel you forward in uncovering the mystery behind Sarah’s disappearance.
You can pick up a digital copy of the first episode right now, or you can purchase the entire season pass if you want to gain access to all five episodes for your platform of choice. For more info on The Council you can visit the official website.
