Maxi returns to the stage of history equipped with his weapon of choice, the Fatibal. Seasoned in the arts of Shissen Karihadi, Maxi is said to be just as dangerous as he was in previous iterations, but his fighting style is a bit difficult to handle. Soul Calibur VI will launch for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
Bandai Namco has another Soul Calibur VI video showing one of the many characters to be playable at launch and beyond, which this time happens to be Maxi. Still armed with his familiar nunchaku, Maxi boasts both speed and power when flexing his unending strikes.
“Prepare for the return of Maxi in SOULCALIBUR VI! Armed with his treasured Fatibal, he unleashes the powerful Shissen Karihadi fighting style! Will you be able to withstand his unending flurry of strikes?”
Maxi can be seen twirling his Fatibal around in a stylish and dangerous manner right here all thanks to Bandai Namco.
At this point, I can’t say how powerful or balanced Maxi is based on the above trailer. There’s no doubt that he brings his usual fancy nunchaku moves to the battlefield, but how well will he stack up against a new opponent like Grøh? Well, according to Maxi’s description/bio it seems that his weapon is difficult to wield but once mastered rains maximum pain:
“Maxi’s father had worked in the Ryukyu Kingdom as a merchant. Though fortunate enough to experience different cultures from his trade, he felt tied down by his job. On his deathbed, he told Maxi to go out and see the world. Deciding to live by these words, Maxi set out to seek total freedom. He found this out at sea where he became a pirate to see the world his father couldn’t.
Maxi’s weapon is a nunchaku which is extremely difficult to wield. It will give a rain of pain to the opponent but only if you know how to handle it!”
Hopefully, a playable build or some extensive look at Soul Calibur VI appears at this E3 to answer a lot of unanswered questions about the game. However, we only have less than two weeks to go before the big expo goes live.
Soul Calibur VI, as noted above, has no release date but will launch for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
