The old-school beat-’em-up title features ripped sprites based on 3D characters, set in a gritty, crime-filled world where the streets need cleaning up and no one is ballsy enough to get it done save for three unlikely heroes.
The classically made game hearkens back to the old-school arcade days when games like Knuckle Bash, The Punisher and Pit Fighter ruled the coin-up arcade shops. You’ll play as a grizzled cop, an ex-military chick, or a little boy with a backpack and a mean sense of justice.
You can check out the gameplay for Raging Justice Below.
I’m a bit torn on this game when it comes to the presentation. I like that there are a variety of weapons to use, lots of combos to unleash, and the ability to punch, kick, grapple, throw and pulverize your opponents into the concrete. What I’m not so fond of are the stiff animations for the characters, the actual character designs, and the fighting techniques at their disposal. It looks rather… amateurish.
But look, if you can get past the less than inspiring animations and you enjoy the general gameplay mechanics and the feel of the combat, you’ll have a rich gameplay experience involving a number of different weapons, stages, boss fights, two player cooperative modes, and the ability to either arrest or kill baddies.
The benefit of arresting opponents earns you extra HP, but it takes longer to arrest them because you have to stun them first.
You can grab a digital copy of Raging Justice for PC over on the Steam store for $14.99, or get it from the PlayStation Store for PS4, or the Xbox Store for Xbox One, or the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo Switch.
