Star Citizen Alpha 3.2.0 Will Feature Six New Modular Armor Sets

The latest episode for Around the Verse for Roberts Space Industries and Cloud Imperium Games’ Star Citizen has popped up.

The latest episode confirms that there are a number of new tools in the works that will greatly expand the visual diversity of various locations within the persistent universe for alpha 3.3.0, as well as what gamers can expect from the brand new armor sets that will appear in alpha 3.2.0.

In the persistent universe aspect of development, the developers have been implementing a number of new NPC personalities, cleaning up NPC animations, as well as refining the interactions between players and vendor NPCs. The team is also updating the mining effects, the scanner HUD, and the ability to utilize link-jumping, which will be essential for escort missions, guild transport runs, and squad-based tasks.

Biome asset packs are also set to appear in alpha 3.3.0, along with the launch of two additional planetary locations.

The biome asset packs will allow level artists to conveniently implement different types of biome modules on a planet to give it more environmental diversity. As some of you may know, a lot of the interactive systems in the game right now have very limited visual motifs spread across the planets’ surfaces, giving them a very samey look. The biome asset packs will give gamers a lot of new areas to explore and different types of visual designs spread across each location on the interactive planets/moons.

Star Citizen - Legacy Heavy Armor

Another section of the episode talked about something a little closer to home, which is the new armor sets that will appear in the upcoming major quarterly roll out for the alpha versions of Star Citizen. This includes six new armor sets that will appear in alpha 3.2.0 when it goes live in the next milestone update.

The six armor sets will also be modular, so you’ll be able to mix and match each part, which means there will be 36 new combinations possible just among the new armor sets alone, not including all the other armor sets currently available in Star Citizen.

Star Citizen - Armor Color Variants

Additionally, each armor set also comes in 21 different color variants, so technically you get 756 different total variations just by mixing and matching the new sets of armor that will appear in alpha 3.2.0. Customization junkies certainly won’t be left wanting.

You can actually keep track of development on Star Citizen by visiting the official website and checking out the roadmap for the progress being made so far.
