Daniel Vavra, the creative director on Warhorse Studios’ Kingdom Come: Deliverance, recently cancelled an appearance at a Spanish gaming convention called Gamelab.
Spanish website One More Game chronicles the events that led to the cancellation, which was confirmed by Ivan Fernandez, the founder of Game Lab, on May 21st, 2018.
I am sorry to inform that @DanielVavra has cancelled his talk at #Gamelab2018 after receiving serious insults through social networks. We respect his decission but we are sorry to miss his interesting insights about the development of one of the best European games this year. 😞

The “serious insults” were spurred on by feminist activist and Spanish Buzzfeed journalist, who spread around the falsehoods that Daniel Vavra was a Nazi.
The tweets originally went out on May 16th, 2018, where it was stated that Daniel Vavra is “openly racist” and that he’s “macho” and a “GamerGate defender”. The second tweet chain states that feminists don’t want Nazis at the Gamelab event.
– ¡Es el Gamelab más diverso de la historia!
– Pero han invitado a un nazi.
– Bueno, ¡PERO HAY MUJERES! ¿NO QUERÍAIS ESO?
– Bueno, es que tampoco queremos nazis.
– ES QUE NO ESTÁIS CONTENTAS CON NADA.

Daniel Vavra did respond to the attacks, stating that he’s of Jewish heritage.
I have a Jewish heritage, my granfather escaped nazi forced labour camp, most of my partners family died in concentration camp and you call me a Nazi? Quite a bold statement. pic.twitter.com/NcbPvVOY37

As pointed out by Spanish artist Kukuruyo, the Buzzfeed employee also promotes anti-male agendas, oftentimes referred to as misandry.
This is the feminist who called Daniel Varva a Nazi and consecuently caused the cancellation of his panel at Gamelab, now proudly showing the new shirts of the workers at Buzzfeed in Spain.
No one would have expected this, right? pic.twitter.com/mcqDEUWtDu

A clearer photo of the image showcases that there are shirts being spread around the Buzzfeed Spain circles that states “Men ‘R Trash”.
Mirad que respetuosa es la culpable de todo esto. Todo es discriminación, menos cuando ella envía mensajes de odio sexistas contra hombres. Ole su coherencia pic.twitter.com/Vq7ptFMWGi

The issue managed to gain some widespread attention in English speaking circles thanks to Kukuruyo making a post about the issue over on Kotaku in Action, where he explained that Gamelab would be hosting anti-gaming activists on the panel such as Rami Ismail from Vlambeer and Leigh Alexander, and that when certain people found out that Daniel Vavra had been invited, they began their campaign to smear him publicly within the Spanish tech and gaming circles.
Wow. If I had known he was invited, I wouldn’t have accepted, and if I had come and he had been there, I wouldn’t have talked. It doesn’t reflect well in the first place.

GameLab 2018 will still happen, and it will feature appearances from Amy Hennig, Jason Roberts, and Shawn Layden. The conference will take place between June 27th and June 29th at the Hotel Hosperia Tower in Barcelona, Spain. For more info you can visit the official website.
